Place Value using Base Ten Blocks

We have been very busy learning the importance of place value.  In the pictures below the students were able to model two and three digit numbers using base ten blocks. 

Math Review

During math review each day we complete a math minute worksheet.  Each worksheet has a variety of math skills we review.  Reviewing these skills daily will help build math fluency. 

What are nouns?

Before we began our lesson on adjectives we reviewed nouns.  The students worked together in groups to identify nouns.  Each student received a magazine where they had to locate pictures of a person, place, thing, or animal.

Monthly Behavior Calendar

     This week I will be sending home a monthly behavior calendar.  It will stay inside of his/her folder everyday until the end of the month when I take it out.  I will make a mark on it each day that your child comes to school to indicate what his/her behavior.  If your child has to move his/her name, I will write the conduct code number for the behavior that caused the clip to be moved.  A key is located at the bottom of the calendar to let you know how the rating scale works.  Please remember that classroom distractions result in loss of instructional time.
