During reading the students worked with their reading buddy to answer questions from chapter 1 of "Gooney Bird on the Map."

Locating Georgia's Regions

In my classroom I use different hands on strategies for students to learn.  During a social studies lesson the students were grouped in cooperative learning groups and given Georgia Regions clue cards.  They worked together using the clue cards to locate each region. 

Measuring Up!

During our unit on measurement the students had a lot of opportunities to work with a partner measuring different objects.  We practiced estimating and measuring using two different units of measurement.  As you can tell from the pictures they really worked hard and enjoyed using hands on activities to understand the importance of measurement.
