Differentiated Instruction during Math Review

During math review I use a variety of tasks to maximize learning for all students.  I provide a variety of learning centers that accommodate all learning styles.   By implementing differentiated instruction this allows me to work with small groups so all of my students can achieve success.

Lost in the Solar System

The “Magic School Bus Lost In the Solar System” is one of our extended text from ELA CCGPS unit 1.  As we read the text Mrs. Greenwald and I decided to work together to create a collaborative group project.  Our classes worked together to create a solar system mobile.  Each student created eight paper mache planets and one paper mache sun.  Then the students painted their paper mache balls and hung them onto wire hangers.  This week we will begin to focus on the changing moon.  Check back on our blog next week to see our phases of the moon project.

Plural Nouns

This week we focused on plural nouns.  Friday the students worked with a group or with a partner to decide if a noun needed an s or es to make it plural.

Buddy Reading

During buddy reading students read aloud to each other.  In the pictures below the students are reading "Frog and Toad."
